The Richings Players

WELCOME FROM OUR CHAIRMAN

Richings Players has been a part of my life since I was a child - when in 1986 I played the part of Tessie in Annie. I performed in many shows throughout my teens and I regard the society as one of the reasons that I became an actress and later a Drama teacher. Richings Players instilled in me a love of performing, so when the role of Chairman came up, I jumped at the chance to give something back to the Society that gave me so much.  I have been the chairman since 2015 when I took over from Adrian (who is now our Vice President).

For over 90 years we have been entertaining the Ivers’ and hope to continue for at least another 90 years. This can only be done with the support of our members and audience. Richings Players is a busy society with lots of different ways to get involved. You don’t need to be a budding performer to be part of our Society; we are always looking for costume, technical, front of house or just social members.

However, if treading the boards is something you are interested in then please come and join us. We are a very friendly bunch and love to meet new people.

As a child I was fortunate enough to play many roles and I was so grateful for the fact that Richings Players catered for every age group from 6 – 90 and encouraged youngsters to take part. This is something that the committee and I still believe in. You are never too old or too young to have fun together entertaining folk that want a good night out.

I am so proud to be the Chairman of Richings Players and I hope to see you all very soon in whatever capacity you choose.

Evelyn Stafford-Allen - Chairman
